Job Description
Role and Responsibilities:
The Industry Partnerships Manager (IPM) will be responsible for building and establishing long-term My Book Buddy sponsorships for local non-profit organizations and reading programs in need of book donations. The IPM will act as the liaison between My Book Buddy Metro-Detroit and sponsored clients. The IPM will also create, lead, manage an individualized program to meet each sponsored clients needs.
This position will be based in the Metro-Detroit area and reports directly to the CEO.
Principal Accountabilities:

Evaluate the needs of potential clients in the Metro-Detroit area (research, teleconferences, and face-to-face meetings required)

Act as the sole liaison between My Book Buddy Metro-Detroit and sponsored clients

Create program plan/timeline and achieve donation targets for sponsored clients

Work with Inventory Control Clerk at Metro-Detroit location to project and plan book donations

Provide monthly program updates to CEO

Program monthly program updates to clients under sponsorship

Manage annual Michigan tax paperwork for all donations to each client program
Qualifications and Education Requirements
The successful candidate will possess the following experience and competencies:

Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in program management, marketing, fundraising strategy or related field (depending on experience, exception may be made)

Demonstrated success in leading development programs from creation to completion

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
-
Ability to work independently with little or no direction

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Energy and passion for the My Book Buddy mission

Ability to telecommute as needed
Preferred Skills

Experience in establishing and managing corporate partnerships

Experience in cultivating and expanding sponsorship relationships over time

Proven track record of maintaining consistent sponsorships with clients

Working knowledge of Michigan tax laws pertaining to charitable giving
